Where do you look for inspiration?

I look for inspiration on the internet, in other peaces of art and artist biographys and in other cultures and history.

DIY The Look

Kate Middleton

Royal engagement ring, militaristic jacket, lion shoes & a zipper fascinator!

This week I DIY the look of a real life princess, Kate Middleton!

One of the questions in last week's pub quiz was "Who was voted the most fashionable women by Vanity Fair?" and it turned out to be Kate Middleton. She manages to stay formal while looking fashionable and was the perfect choice for this week's DIY the look:

  1. Dress up with OutsaPop's zipper rose fascinator.
  2. Add a touch of designer with Ren Ariel's DIY Miu Miu sequin bird dress.
  3. Make your own version of the Royal engagement ring with neondoll.
  4. Clasp an Alexander McQueen style knuckle duster clutch by Kirsten.
  5. DIY your own mini version of Vanessa's shamrock brooch.
  6. Sew a long militaristic jacket like Margarita.
  7. Accessorize with Chelsea's ribbon and chain bracelet.
  8. Complete the look with Matter Of Style's lion head shoes.

Are there any other Royals you'd love to DIY the look of?

This week I'm going to DIY the look of singer and Rilo Kiley frontwoman, Jenny Lewis!

Jenny Lewis has a laid back California style which she dresses up with quirky girly accessories. For this look, I wanted to DIY a look that could be worn on stage or to the beach:

  1. Give your hair the big tease with Sarah & Rebecca.
  2. Make you own version of with The Martena fedora from Sweat Shop Paris.
  3. Resize your favorite rock n' roll t-shirt.
  4. Layer your jewellery with Pamela's secret love note necklace.
  5. Girly up the look with lala's ribbon belt.
  6. Add a touch of Hollywood with a blackboard cinema necklace.
  7. Dye a pair of purple gradient shorts like Sherese.
  8. Accessorize with Gabi's leather bracelet.
  9. Keep the California sun out of your eyes with decorated sunglasses like CatGirl.
  10. Add a touch of sparkle with Mikaela's DIY glitter wedges.

Lea Joy Friedel

We chat to Lea Joy, an aspiring pin-up musician from Berlin!

This week we get to know my subscriber Lea Joy Friedel, a student from Berlin, Germany who dreams of becoming a successful musician and pin-up model one day.

Lea Joy discovered me when her favourite singer Emilie Autumn tweeted about us three years ago. Her favourite food is sushi, Freddie Mercury is her hero and the man she loves is her most favourite possession!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Since I was little I always wanted to be a musician and pin-up model. That’s what I’m still working on.

Where should we visit if we come to your town?

If you travel to Berlin, you will mostly see the tourist places. But if you want to skip this superficial experience and see what is like to live in this awesome town, I recommend areas like Kreuzberg/Neukölln. Here we have art, culture and the Berlin-typical relaxed atmosphere. Just walk through the streets and open your eyes and you will discover beautiful places.

"Follow your feelings, they will always show you the right way."

Where do you look for inspiration?

Music is my biggest inspiration. Secondly concerts, poems, people, conversations and the city.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Follow your feelings, they will always show you the right way.

What would your three wishes be?

  1. Live my dreams with a multitalent career.
  2. Finding a man who really loves me.
  3. A constant state of feeling free and secure.

You can find out more about Lea Joy on her Facebook and 4Manon is a project she's working on with a friend!
