After we had spotted all the butterflies we had wanted to spot, we headed to The Paper Mill, a hipster new bar and restaurant that Tom had discovered in Lasswade.

It was right next to the river and was really lovely inside. I tried a Breakfast Martini which was made from orange marmalade, Millers, Cointreau, lemon juice and Antica Formula.

One of the best things about having is a car is being able to take late night trips to the craft store for supplies and this evening, Tom took me to Hobby Craft to buy some pattern-making paper. We then decided to treat ourselves to dinner at The Paper Mill on our way home.

It was so quite that we almost had the whole place to ourselves. As the designated drinker, I tried a Vanilla Cosmopolitan while Tom had a tasty ginger beer.

We ordered 2 meals for £20 from the Eat Local menu and I tried the risotto while Tom tucked in to the catch of the day fish and chips. We were a little too full for dessert but I'd love to go back sometime to try their lavender creme brûlée.

We took Mum to The Paper Mill where it was warm enough to sit outside on the terrace next to the river. It was the perfect place to spend the afternoon.

We ordered cocktails and I had a Louisiana Jam and a lavender creme brûlée, which both tasted amazing.

We ended up at The Paper Mill where we sat next to the river, looking through cookbooks for inspiration for what to cook for dinner while sipping cocktails and it was so relaxing.

I had a Voodoo, I Do cocktail which was delicious with a side of truffle mac n cheese, while Tom had ginger beer and some parmesan fries.

We ended our day with drinks and nibbles at The Paper Mill, where it was still warm enough to sit outside.

In the evening, my parents had a voucher for burgers at The Paper Mill so we joined them and I had a vegetarian Wellington.

We headed to The Paper Mill afterwards for drinks and nibbles. They serve a bread board which comes with the tastiest oils to dip your bread in.

Tom and I had our own mini office party with lunch at The Paper Mill, where we were surrounded by other Christmas parties.

I had risotto and a Christmas cocktail while Tom had fish & chips.

We went for drinks and nibbles at The Papermill where I had a vanilla cosmo and tucked in to a mug of mac n cheese.
