venice

Yesterday  we dropped Wendy off at Little Venice, so that she could take the boat to Camden, and went for breakfast. The friendly man from Warwick Avenue had written…

“Good morning folks,

It’s Friday, no longer any reason to get out of bed – thank goodness!

Have a lazy weekend.”

… on the service information board. He’s my hero.

wendy

We dropped Wendy and her very large bags off at the Eurostar for Paris.

zipflower

I got a very cute zipper rosette brooch from Accessorize. I really should have made one myself but I couldn’t resist buying it there and then.

mirrors

In the evening we went to Clare and Jo’s leaving party, which had turned in to a “may be leaving” party, so I’ll be happy if we get to keep them. The party was at Zigfrid in Hoxton, which had terrible customer service and an awesome broken mirrored walls, which made it feel like you were in a forrest.

plant

I forgot to blog about it, but we adopted an unwanted palm tree on our way home the other night. I really like it and wonder how big it will grow?!

clare

Saturday was Clare’s birthday, so we headed down to Herne Hill to celebrate in a pub with a spotty dalmatian.

waxseal

I had ordered her a personalized wax seal, with her name on, and Tom brought her a Candy Cake, complete with a birthday candle.

On Sunday, we had a Vegetarian BBQ at the mews. Raven, Emma, Tony, Lynsey and Claire came and it was quite successful, apart from it raining midway through cooking the food, but it was nothing that an umbrella couldn’t fix.

Yesterday, I had an incredibly sloggy day at work and then snuggled up to watch Wimbeldon, the movie (which was awful) and a bit of Narnia with Tom and Emma in the evening. Tomorrow we’re off on a datenight with Emma and Raven to the movies. Also, this is in the mail and I can’t wait:

picnic

Yesterday, Clare was in town so we met her in Green Park for a picnic. She has such a fun busy life being a journalist / extra in movies.

nowshow

In the evening we went to see the Now Show at BBC Broadcasting House. It’s not my favorite radio show, but it does help me fall asleep, so half way through I started getting very drowsy. It was all a bit middle class and not that funny.

When we got back, we sat out with the neighbours and then discovered that Michael Jackson had died. We had a little toast for him, listened to Thriller and then Dan made me pasta, which was very yummy.

dis1

I wrote a little guide to turning your front room in to a festival for DiS, so if you’re not at Glastonbury (like most of our neighbours, who are playing at it) you can still pretend you are.
