quilt

I seem to craft so much faster when it’s cold outside. This week I finished my patchwork quilt, which I had started back in the summer. I had the bulk of the work finished in two days and then left it for months until Monday, when it was so cold, I decided to get it finished. It’s really cosy having the extra layer on the bed and it’s good to snuggle up with in front of the TV and knit.

scarf

It’s been another busy crafty week. I’ve finished knitting my scarf, but I want to add pockets and John Lewis have ran out of my shade of yarn, so I’ll have to wait until I’m back in Scotland to get some more. On Wednesday, Tom’s boss Malcolm was hosting an evening at the office, where he showed off the video of Hugh Grant shaving off his moustache. It was really funny and I’ll post it when it’s live.

candleholder

Alex gave us an early Christmas present last night, which is a really pretty candle holder made out of a tree trunk.

eggnog

We’ve been making eggnog and ginger beer for our December party this weekend. I’ve also finished my Christmas shopping, which I’m really happy about. I do more shopping in December than I do in the rest of the year.

bikes

On Sunday, we decided to go out cycling on the rent-a-bikes at Kensington Olympia, but when we arrived the machine said “Low Battery” and we couldn’t get them out. We’ve signed up to the service now, so we’ll try again next weekend. They are a little embarrassing looking though.

lipgloss

We decided to cheer ourselves up with some retail therapy at Westfield, where I got this awesome light-up lipgloss. Anna and Raven had showed off theirs to me a few weeks before and I had really wanted one. It smells like cookies.

attackcat

I’ve been trying to get back in to my crafting habit recently, but it’s pretty hard to knit with attack kitties about.

quilt

I’ve been spending a few hours a night on my quilt and now it’s almost half finished. After a few more evening and a trip to Goldhawk Road for some super cosy batting, it’ll be all done!

Also, Tom designed me a logo for my wax seal (which I’ve wanted for ages) and I love it so much:

quilt

I’ve started making a patchwork quilt for our bed, which should be super cosy when winter comes. My Mum use to make quilts and won awards for them, so the knowledge must be in my brain somewhere. It’s quite a repetitive task but it gets addictive, I need to hunt out some good podcasts to listen to while I sew. So far, I’ve been watching True Blood, which I like.

purriri copy

This week we have been going on cinema dates, avoiding the rain, working really hard, buying clothes and giving more dating advice to the neighbours. We also came third, as Team Ravonettes, in the local pub quiz with Emma. There were only four teams, so third wasn’t that great but the winning team bought everyone drinks.

cut_out_and_keep

Cut Out + Keep’s trademark has been finalized, so we get to put an R at the end.

altfashionsmall

The latest issue of Alt. Fashion came through the letterbox, with my tutorial for making a lolita cuff, and it got me in the mood to be crafty again.

kittyclip_1249661431

I’ve discovered the art of layering shrink plastic, so my first creation was a kitty cat hair clip. It works really well and now I have about a thousand ideas for things to make next.
