It was the first day of the Edinburgh Trams today and Tom was excited for us to test them out.

They're supposed to run every 10 minutes but we ended up waiting around half an hour for our first one, so there must have been some first day hiccups.

The tram was super busy when it eventually did arrive and we had to squeeze on with everyone else who was equally excited and taking photos.

It was a lot twistier and quite a bit slower than I had expected, but I bet I'm still on a come down after riding the Shinkansen.

We jumped off at the last stop before the airport, as we'd have had to pay a surcharge to continue. It was really peaceful way out in the middle of nowhere and I thought this could be a lovely place to come for a picnic on a sunny day.

I couldn't resist squishing a penny on the track before heading back home. I'm not sure how useful the trams will be for us but I'm sure we'll end up on them again someday.
