We then headed to Westminster, where the election results were being projected on to Big Ben.

The south bank was lit up pretty for the evening.

There were only a couple of results in while we were but I bet it looked amazing at 6 in the morning.

We then went to Westminster to see if we could get in to parliament. There's usually a two hour queue we were told but today there was none, so we walked straight in.

We got our photos taken for visitor passes.

We got to sit in on the House of Commons and the House of Lords but our phones and cameras were taken off us, so I couldn't take photos. It looks just like it does on TV though.

We went for a drink in the MPs cafe afterwards where they had the most amazing looking cupcakes but I was too full to try one. I wonder if we can come back without queuing?!
