Today my Mum and I went to Kew Gardens. Kew was a lovely little town filled with coffee shops, organic delis and pumpkins.

The gardens were huge and very picturesque, we had a sushi picnic next to the pond.

We started by looking around the glasshouse which was huge and filled with hundreds of plants, trees and flowers. It was like heaven for my plant-loving Mum.

There was an amazing aquarium in the basement with turtles, fish and seahorses.

We then had a look around the grounds which were gorgeous.

They had nice Christmas decorations in the shop. I was tempted to steal a mini pumpkin as they wouldn't sell them to us.

We went on a tour but it was quite boring so we sneaked away when noone was looking. We found another glasshouse further in the park.

This one had a scary walkway along the top. Some of the plants were so tall.

We then went around the tree top walk which was pretty but a little scary when we realised that the entire structure was swaying from little children running around. It was half term, so there were kids running and screaming everywhere – I wouldn’t think a botanical garden would make for a great kid’s day out.

We then went for a look around the hot house at all the exotic plants and water lillies.
