This kit from Hats On Heads arrived this morning and I couldn't wait to play milliner for the day.

An hour or two later, my hat was complete. It was lots of fun to make but I'm not sure where I'll ever be able to wear it to.

Tom and I went for bento boxes at YummyTori for dinner and they were delicious. The box included miso soup, rice, salad, seaweed and three veggie skewers.

I washed my bento down with a lychee surprise cocktail.

The dessert included was a sake sorbet which was also really nice.

In the evening, we met up with Kenny and Laura at Under The Stairs for the pub quiz and cocktails. This drink was called a Go Figure and tasted like figs and hazelnuts. We came third this week.

We found our collection of hotel key cards from our American road-trip.

There were so many of them but there's going to be many more after we go back later this year.

Mum & Dad came over this evening and I made them sweet potato burgers. Do you like my Truck Food Cookbook napkins? Workman sent me a huge pile of them with a review copy of the book.

Tom took me to see The Host this afternoon. I read the book last year but saw the film had scored 10% on Rotten Tomatoes, so I was worried about how bad it would be. It wasn't that bad actually.

Afterwards we went for a bite to eat at Urban Angel where Tom and I shared a falafel sandwich and a hazelnut brownie. The food was so good that I'd love to go back for a full meal sometime.

It was also Calum's birthday today, so we met him with him and his friends in the evening for drinks and an Indian feast for dinner.

I'm a total wimp when it comes to spicy food, so my tongue felt like it'd been through the wars by the end of the night but I did love the Peshawari naan, which I'm going to have to learn how to make.

We just discovered that you can watch our Google video in 3D and I'm such a comic book nerd, I think that's way cooler than it probably is.

I got a new sweater with a bejewelled squirrel on and when I put in on, I realised I was paring it with a cat dress and bunny shoes. Do you think that's too many animals for one outfit?
